Q&A: How can bans on cell phone use in cars help Phone Companies?
Question by Podigidex: How can bans on cell phone use in cars help Phone Companies?
My friend and I are doing a debate for a speech class and we are doing a cross-examination debate. Being affirmative, we would like to know if there are any benefits to cell phone companies financially by NOT using cell phones in cars. We know personally it can lower your phone bill, but how is this good for the phone companies or people in general? Does this avoid lawsuits, money from the government, etc;? It would be much appreciated!
Thank you.

If there is a ban on cell phone use while in the car, there is a lower chance that an accident victim can try to sue the phone carrier for something stupid like, allowing a driver to talk/text while driving or the phone rang and caused a distraction and helped cause the accident.
Give your answer to this question below!

The only benefit to cell phone companies is selling accessories such as blue tooth and dash mounted hands free cell phone docking stations. A very lucrative market created by the new law that mandates one if you talk in your car. The cell phone companies are showing a high rise in profits from the sales of these accessories.
And most people are buying them rather than give up talking in the car.

One of the main benefits to cell phone companies is money!! Some of their highest profit margins are on cell phone accessories. They are now going to be increasing sales of hands free, bluetooth, phone mounts, etc.
I don’t think people will talk less, they will just find other ways to do it.
